The piece, in plain words
Sabki is the most-worn piece in any Khalis wardrobe — handwoven khadi cotton, relaxed across the shoulders, gently cropped at the hem for the women's cut and an inch longer for the men's. Worn open over a tee, buttoned for evenings, knotted at the waist over a Phool dress. Softens with every wash.

- 100% Handwoven Khadi cotton, GI-tagged, sourced from Maheshwar village clusters.

- 140 GSM. Cool, breathable, gets softer over time.

- Plain weave for solids; Madras checks woven on small jacquard looms.
- Dye
- Natural dyes — madder, indigo, turmeric — and azo-free pigments.
- Trim
- Resin buttons turned by hand in Karol Bagh, Delhi. Logo embroidery at the inside seam.
Care & ageing
Cold hand wash for the first three washes (the natural dyes settle). Machine wash gentle thereafter. Line dry in shade. Iron warm. Expect a quiet softening, a slight fade in the deeper colourways — these are not flaws.

The fabric · Khadi
Hand-woven, two metres a day.
Our khadi comes from a cluster of five families in Maheshwar, where the loom has been in the room longer than any of us. The yarn is hand-spun on the charkha, the cloth woven on pit looms, the imperfection welcomed.
A good weaver produces about two metres a day. A Sabki shirt is two and a half metres of cloth. That is roughly a day and a half of someone else's life held against your shoulders.
